OMNI GROVE PARK INN
The OMNI Grove Park Inn opened in 1913, with construction primarily of granite stones mined from nearby mountains. The 120-foot across Great Hall hosts 24-foot ceilings and two 14-foot stone fireplaces. Notable guests over the years at the Grove Park Inn include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harry Houdini, Helen Keller, Thomas Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt, Henry Ford, and 10 different U.S. Presidents. The resort underwent a $25 million renovation in 2012, so fear not… The rooms will be a bit more modern than they were back in 1913! For those interested in learning a bit more about the history of the Grove Park Inn, here is a 10 minute YouTube video, courtesy of the resort.
The Spa at the Grove Park Inn has been awarded Runner-Up in USA Today’s 10 Best Resort Spas in America. The Spa facility is a $50 million, 43,000 square feet and hosts a variety of different treatments.
The Grove Park Inn features a few different restaurants and bars on property. One of which is Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar. We’re planning to take over this establishment for a little after party here on the night of our wedding, but we do encourage you to grab a drink here on one of the other nights you’re visiting the hotel!
Adults 21+ only.
The Grove Park Inn includes a Donald Ross designed 18-Hole (Par-70) Golf Course. You can call the Golf Pro Shop directly at (828)398-3858 for tee time inquiries.
The Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned house in the United States. Cornelius Vanderbilt’s Grandson, George Washington Vanderbilt, completed building on this home in 1895. He called it his “Little Mountain Escape.” At the time, it reportedly cost Vanderbilt $5 Million to build (~$189M today).
Fun Fact – The Biltmore Estate hosts eight different wedding venues. Case and Sabrina toured a few during their hunt for their wedding, but are very happy with their decision to have their special day at the Grove Park Inn.
